Colorado Accent Walls, Media Walls & Built-Ins: 2026–2027 Cost Guide
Planning an accent wall, fireplace feature, custom cabinetry, or decorative ceiling in Colorado? Your budget depends on the size of the project, materials, installation needs, and how much customization is involved.
This guide outlines Avileve’s planning ranges for the 2026–2027 season across our Colorado service areas, including Denver Metro, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and foothill and mountain communities.
Three Project Levels: What Are You Paying For?
Ready-made products, semi-custom installations, and fully custom projects involve different amounts of design, fabrication, and on-site work. Understanding the difference helps you compare options—and understand what an estimate includes.
Ready-Made Solutions: Typically Under $5,000
Sometimes called a “project in a box,” this approach uses existing products or pre-designed systems. You purchase the components and install them yourself or hire a handyman or installer.
Examples include decorative wall panels, slat panel kits, and ready-made storage combinations.
Best for: straightforward updates where standard sizes and a limited selection of finishes work for your room.
Check whether the price covers only the products or also delivery, preparation, installation, and finishing. These additional costs can take a project beyond the initial budget.
Semi-Custom Projects: Typically $8,000–$12,000
Semi-custom projects use established designs or a combination of ready-made and fabricated components, adapted to your measurements.
The work can include measuring, selecting cabinets and finishes, making fitted elements, and bringing everything together in one coordinated installation. Fillers, trim, shelving, and finishing details help integrate the design into your room.
Best for: media walls, home offices, and storage compositions that need a tailored fit without every component being designed and built from scratch.
Fully Custom Projects: Starting at $15,000
Fully custom work starts with your room, your needs, and a design developed around them.
It can involve detailed design development, a wider selection of materials, custom cabinetry, integrated lighting, and fabrication both in the workshop and on site. Layout, proportions, storage, and finishing details are developed as one composition.
Best for: full-wall built-ins, complex entertainment centers, and projects with distinctive materials or extensive detailing.
These levels describe project approaches, not fixed price categories for every service. A professionally installed accent wall can cost under $5,000, while a larger semi-custom installation can exceed its typical range.

Modern TV feature walls: $5,000–$7,000. Decorative finishes, a clean layout, and concealed cables.

Complete custom compositions: $10,000–$15,000+. More extensive combinations of cabinetry, display shelves, lighting, and selected finishes.
A contained custom media wall can fit within the $10,000–$15,000 range. Projects requiring extensive bespoke cabinetry, detailed design development, and substantial fabrication generally start at $15,000.
Custom Built-Ins: Starting at $6,000
Our custom built-in cabinets and shelving include home offices, entertainment centers, libraries, display walls, and storage systems.
Compact & Practical: $6,000–$12,000. Focused workspaces and smaller storage compositions.
Storage & Display: $10,000–$17,000. Larger combinations of cabinets, drawers, open shelving, and display space.
Full-Wall & Custom: From $15,000. Extensive compositions developed around your room, equipment, and storage needs.
The number of cabinets and drawers, door styles, finishes, and integrated features all influence the cost.
Decorative Ceilings: Starting at $3,500
Our decorative ceilings and wood beams add character through beams, coffers, wood slats, planks, and decorative finishes.
Focused Ceiling Features: $3,500–$5,000. A defined ceiling feature or treatment within a selected area.
Complete Ceiling Designs: From $8,000. More extensive treatments coordinated across the room.
Detailed & Custom Ceilings: $10,000–$15,000+. Complex layouts, custom details, and more demanding installations.
Ceiling height, access, layout, materials, and lighting coordination affect the scope of work.
What Else Can Affect Your Colorado Project Cost?
Existing conditions. Surface preparation, removal of existing features, uneven walls, and any required electrical work need to be considered before pricing is finalized.
Materials and equipment. Natural wood, specialty finishes, cabinet hardware, fireplace selection, and lighting can change the budget. Check which items are included in your estimate.
Location and access. For mountain homes in areas such as Evergreen, Breckenridge, Frisco, and Vail, delivery arrangements, property access, and installation scheduling may affect the estimate.
The amount of customization. Standard components with fitted trim require a different process from cabinetry and architectural features fabricated specifically for your home.
How to Choose the Right Project Level
Start with what you want the space to do. Is your priority a visual focal point, more storage, a better workspace, or a complete room composition?
Then share a comfortable budget range. That helps us suggest where customization will make the greatest difference and where a simpler solution may achieve the look you want.
A well-proportioned accent wall can transform a room without extensive cabinetry. For a media wall or home office, combining standard components with fitted details may offer the right balance of appearance, function, and cost.
